TASC staff just go a whole lot "smarter"
TASC staff members Sue Gordon and Andrew Caple have recently visited and observed first hand a number of Community Courts in New York City, on a scholarship provided by The Advocacy and Support Centre's Smarter State initiative. TASC and QUT join to deliver post-graduate course.
TASC and its Queensland Criminal Justice Centre are continuing to demonstrate leadership in the area of mental health law with the delivery of two tertiary level courses. The first commences at QUT in September 2009, the second at Griffith University in February 2010. ... read more
TASC's Andrew Caple and Sue Gordon return from Edinburgh and New York
TASC's Andrew Caple and Sue Gordon have returned from Edinburgh and New York City following their address at international crime and mental health law conferences, as well as spending time with the international think-tank, the Centre of Court Innovation in New York. Both Andrew and Sue travelled under the guise of the TASC Smarterstate Scholarship. TASC again at the Coalface
On the 1st of July 2009 the Tenancy laws in Queensland changed the Advocacy team (Peter Murphy and Samantha Poole - Tenant Advocates and Rodney Vagg and Rosemary Weir - Disability Advocates) from TASC were outside Centrelink with free soup to promote these changes.
