TASC's Sue Gordon awarded the Cth Minister's Lifelong Achievement Award
Last week in Canberra TASC Community Development Coordinator and long-term disability advocate Sue Gordon was awarded one of Australia's most prestigious awards, the Minister's Lifelong Achievement Award.
"It was a wonderful privilege to receive the award and of course to really illuminate the cutting edge work of TASC and its Queensland Criminal Justice Centre," Sue said.
The National Disability Awards were held in Canberra and attended by 51 Commonwealth Parliamentarians, including the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd MP
"The attendance list at these awards not only signified the utmost importance of the work of the award candidates, but of course the Commonwealth Government's commitment to disability issues," TASC CEO Dan Toombs said.
"Sue is such a deserving candidate who of course is not only an effective advocate for people with a disability, but has experienced first hand the impact of disability and has been able to come out of that and give her life to others who suffer."
Sue won the award out of 271 candidates nationally!
