The Smarterstate Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded to TASC employees to conduct research both nationally and/or internationally in a field of particular relevance to TASC and the progression of smart social innovation in Queensland.
TASC acknowledges the utmost importance in keeping our services contemporary and relevant. TASC's reputation as being one of Australia's most innovative not for profit organisations emanates from this acknowledgement. Smarterstate is a vehicle for TASC people to make application directly to the TASC Management Committee for opportunities to conduct off-line research, attend international conferences and anything else that ensures that TASC and Queensland maintains its reputation as innovative, smart and passionate.
Under this scheme in 2009, TASC's Queensland Criminal Justice Centre's Sue Gordon and Andrew Caple visited both New York City and Edinburgh, representing TASC's QCJC at international conferences. Whilst in New York, they closely examined criminal court innovation, particularly the work of the internationally renowned Centre for Court Innovation.
Applications are now open for the 2010 Smarterstate Scholarship
